Events in 2012

Monthly Social Meeting:  The last Thursday of every month (except December) 8.00pm.  Come along and meet other bat group members; listen and join in on the monthly talks and discussions on bat related subjects.

Meetings take place at St Etheldreda's Church Hall, Church Street, Hatfield AL9 5AW.  Parking is available behind the Hall.

Natterer's bat

The next Social Meeting will be held on:

Thursday 23 February 2012 at 8:00pm

Informal gathering for bat group members and guests.

There may not be a formal talk at this meeting. Details to be confirmed.

Tea, coffee, biscuits, etc. and all welcome as usual.

Forthcoming Social meetings include a combined Social meeting/AGM on 29 March.

Public Events:

April 2012

Roger Havard (a long-standing HMBG member) is leading a family bat walk on 14 April at
7.00pm.  The evening begins with an illustrated talk followed by a bat walk.  Organised through the Field Studies Council in Epping Forest and the course costs £6 per person.  For further details see:

May 2012

Roger also runs longer bat courses through the Field Studies Council in Epping Forest. Entitled 'Discovery Bats' they comprise a classroom day followed by an evening bat walk.  The course will be held on 6 May and repeated on 12 August.  The day is priced at £41.75, which includes a free FSC guide 'A Guide to British Bats' plus evening meal at a local pub.  For more details please visit the FSC website:
